BEFORE FAME
Mr. Obinna was born into the family of Nze Iyiegbu and Lolo Ezinne Iyiegbu in his hometown in Anambra State. His village is Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area. He’s Igbo by tribe, with rich cultural upbringing.
Before Obi Cubana became famous, he went to Central Primary School as Obinna Iyiegbu. Later, his parents changed his school to Dennis Memorial Grammar School for his secondary education. Immediately after writing his WASSCE examination, he gained admission to study Pol Sci at University of Nigeria, Nsukka. By 1998 which was exactly four years later, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
After graduation, he married his wife Mrs. Ebele Iyiegbu who gave birth to beautiful four children. Because of his fame and philanthropy, the Pro-Chancellor and management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree to him 26th November, 2022.

Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana) is the CEO/Chairman/Founder of Cubana Group, a popular hospitality and entertainment company in Nigeria. Cubana’s career as an award winning entrepreneur kicked off in the year 2006 after opening Ibiza Nightclub in the busy area of Abuja. He started small and grew rapidly after putting in the hard work. Due to the success he achieved in FCT, he opened another club called Cubana in Owerri, Imo State.
