CAREER
She served as the Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) from 2009, where she facilitated the enactment of the Employees’ Compensation Act. Olejeme also chaired the Board of Trustfund Pensions Plc and contributed to the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P).
She founded the Ngozi Olejeme Foundation, which empowers disadvantaged individuals and supports widows through skill-building and grants. Additionally, she was a Delta State gubernatorial aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and held key roles in supporting President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign.
In 2023, she faced legal issues involving allegations of financial misconduct. She was declared wanted for allegedly diverting N69 billion from the agency but subsequently turned herself in. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized her 37 houses, frozen 30 bank accounts (each containing at least 20 million Naira), and confiscated a state-of-the-art bathroom valued at $2 million. Additionally, she was a Delta State gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
