ABOUT
Ngozi Therese Chuma-Udeh (born 12 June 1969) is from Anambra State. She was born into the family of Nze and Lolo Alexander Nwokeji. For education, she holds a Ph.D in African and Comparative Literature. She is currently the Dean of arts, Anambra State University. Prof. Ngozi is a distinguished Nigerian professor of English Language, particularly African and comparative literature. Her wonderful career includes the roles as a teacher, orator, academic, novelist, poet, and advocate for women and children.
Previously serving as the University Orator at Anambra State University (now Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University) from 2012 to 2017, she presently holds the positions of Commissioner for the Anambra State Ministry of Education and Secretary of the Anambra State Education Advisory Board.

Chuma-Udeh pursued her academic journey at the University of Port Harcourt, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters. She furthered her studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where she obtained both a Master of Arts and a PhD in English Language and Literature/Letters and Comparative Literature, respectively.
CAREER
Chuma-Udeh holds the position of Fiction Editor at Sentinel Literary Quarterly in the United Kingdom. With extensive experience in academia, she has served as the Department Head of English at Anambra State University for two tenures, as well as fulfilling roles such as Coordinator General of English Studies and Associate Dean of Arts. She has also chaired the Local Organizing Committee for Faculty of Arts International Conferences. Additionally, Ngozi is an esteemed editor and reviewer for PMLA (Journal of the Modern Language Association MLA) and serves as an associate editor for both the ANSU Journal of Integrated Knowledge and the ANSU Journal of Arts and Social Science at Anambra State University.
On April 11, 2022, Ngozi Chuma-Udeh was appointed by Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the Anambra State Commissioner for Education. He mission is to provide a safe and homelike atmosphere for children and imbue on the children values of life like humility, honesty and humanity.
